Positano: Travel Guide
Last month, I spent a wonderful few days in beautiful Positano and it’s up there with some of the most magical trips I’ve ever taken, so much so an Italian summer influenced the creative inspiration behind our latest Limone campaign. The views, the food, the people – it’s a bucket list destination for sure and I know I’ll be back again next summer. I visited some incredible places in and around Positano, so today’s journal post is my travel guide, be sure to bookmark it for your next trip!
STAY
Hotel Poseidon Positano
This family-owned converted seaside villa boasts some of the best views in Positano. Situated midway between the top of town and beach, it’s location hits the sweet-spot of the vertical village. Home to a recently renovated terrace and pool area, traditional Italian-styled rooms and a gorgeous restaurant (I recommend the Parmigiana) it has everything you need for a perfect stay in Positano. Whilst the sun sets behind Positano, Poseidon has the best seat in the house to watch the moon rise over Priano, truly an unforgettable thing to witness and one of my favourite things about this hotel.

Set Sail with Blue Star Positano
It’s often said the best view of Positano is from the sea, and after a boat day cruising the Amalfi Coast with Blue Star, I have to agree. The entire coastline is spectacular, and there’s no better way to drink in the scenic views than from the sea itself. During our trip down to Amalfi, we passed by some of the most iconic spots along the coast, including a swim stop at the Fiordo di Furore bridge. We had a couple of hours to explore Amalfi old town (which is all you really need to pick up some souvenirs and a gelato!) before setting sail again to Da Terezza restaurant, situated on it’s own private beach and famed for their seafood salad and peach wine. On the journey back, you can expect a couple more swim stops in the turquoise waters before enjoying a glass of prosecco as you come back into Positano. An absolute must!
Villa Treville Beach Club
The dreamiest spot for a delicious lunch and an afternoon swim. Once you’ve made your reservation for lunch at Treville, the free water taxi will come and collect you from Positano port, and you can enjoy a breezy 10 minute cruise to the private beach and restaurant home to Villa Treville. I went here shortly after arriving in Positano and it was the most perfect way to start my trip. The Burrata and Focaccia here is simply divine, of course washed down with a couple of glasses of Frascati. From the lunch terrace you can enjoy stunning views of the coastline and quaint beach, where you can reserve a lounger for sunbathing or take an afternoon dip afterwards. The way the water sparkled here is something I won’t forget. Boujee yet still charming, Treville was a super special spot.
Spiagga di Fornillo
Whilst there are plenty of gorgeous beach clubs surrounding Positano, this hidden spot just around the corner from the main port was a beautiful find if you’re looking for something with a little more of a local feel. Lined with beach-shack style restaurants and loungers for sunbathing (although there is a free-beach section towards the end) it’s a short but beautiful 10 minute walk around the cliff from the port. But again, if you make lunch reservations they’ll send a water taxi round to pick you up. Da Ferdinando was my favourite by far – the menu won’t break the bank and both the Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martini’s were on point!

EAT:
Bar Bruno – order their famous clam linguine, you won’t regret it
Saraceno d’Oro – at the top end of town, enjoy the views as you walk up to this authentic spot
DRINK:
Villa Franca – this hotel is at highest point of the village, but so worth the climb for the best Aperitivo and sunset views. Order their Signature smoked Negroni.
Blu Bar – A perfect spot for Rosé on the beach
